Mili the kitten was rescued when she was 8 weeks old. She weighed only 4 ounces was in need of immediate medical attention. She was rushed to the emergency room where her rescuer was told that “she was not viable,” 7 different veterinarians told her that she should be put down. It turned out that Mili was blind and had all sorts of health problems. They gave her intravenous fluids and took x-rays where they discovered that her bones were not connected. She also had megacolon and only one lung that worked properly.
But Mili’s new family didn’t give up on her and they fed her a round the clock to bring up her weight even though it was said that she wouldn’t live longer than a month. Each time she was taken to the vet they couldn’t believe that she was still around and soon she became a chubby little cat weighing in at over two pounds! Mili is well cared for by her family which includes the other animals in the household, it was as if they could sense she had limited abilities and went out of their way to make sure she was safe. Her rescuer believes she is lucky to have Mili in her life and all the care and attention she needs is worth it for all the love that Mili gives back.
She may not be able to see, but she can DEFINITELY feel the love and protection her family gives her!
