Chickens aren’t generally considered friendliest of animals. Sure, they are fluffy, feathery and quite social with each other, but they can be a bit territorial and skittish. When wild animals want to eat you, that surely doesn’t help as well. This motherly hen; however, is quite a bit different. She’s protectively sitting on what one would assume to be an egg…but the reality is enough to warm up the heart of any cat lover.

It’s a special that a chicken would show so much empathy for another type of animal especially when said animal would naturally be considered a mortal enemy. What a strange and wonderful relationship!
