Separation anxiety is a well-known condition in dogs, but what about cats?
Cats have a reputation for being aloof, independent, and even antisocial. Those who share their homes with cats frequently disagree, but there is now research to back up their claims that cats are not as aloof as they appear.
According to a recent study, cats who live with humans have similar attachment styles to their pet parents as dogs and children do.
In fact, 64% of the cats evaluated were described as being strongly attached to their owners. When these cats were near their caregivers, they showed less stress.
