Helping a Cat Recover from a Troubled Past.

Over the decades of working with traumatized cats, it has become clear that PTSD is not limited to humans (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

PTSD is defined as “an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened” by the National Institute of Mental Health. PTSD is not a disease; it is a behavioral change that can be corrected once a pet has been properly diagnosed.

It’s more difficult to diagnose in your pet because they can’t tell you whether they’re having nightmares or recurring visions of a previous experience, but the symptoms are the same.
